Volunteers in Bury St Edmunds are trying to ensure no family in need goes without this Christmas. The Green Hearts community group, formed earlier this year, is taking donations of items such as food and toys to go into Christmas hampers. The Christmas campaign is expected to reach more than fifty vulnerable residents and there are currently nine drop-off points for people to help. Despite Bury’s reputation for affluence, the Mildenhall Estate is among the most deprived areas in England as suggested by the Suffolk Community Foundation.
